I am Lauren Belcher,  and I am an Indiana based artist. I work with most mediums and prefer a realistic style, but sometimes surrealistic elements make their way into my work. As an aspiring art therapist, I see art as a method of communication. Because of this, I strive for my work to contain stories and meanings. While I have a deep and personal connection with every piece I create, I aim to leave enough ambiguity that viewers can attach their own meaning to my artworks. My work is designed to draw people closer; I want viewers to stop, think, feel, and connect with the images that are in front of them on a level deeper than simple visual appeal. All art is full of stories, and mine is no different.
